Product Information

A moody photograph of a participant in an evening Mardi Gras parade.  The use of plain fire in public events is almost unheard of anymore - the roiling Olympic cauldron being one of the few still thriving exceptions.  Fireworks still survive but lack the approachable, almost tactile quality of fire.  Lighters at concerts have given way to cell phone screens, fire breathing performers at carnivals have been replaced with, well, I am not sure what they have been replaced with...  Fire - the poignant starting symbol of man's journey from stone tools to technological enslavement, deserves respect and admiration and in my opinion still deserves a place in the general public.

Jerome Holmes Jr. has been a photographer for over 20 years.  His subject matter has ranged from professional models to photojournalism to capturing the essence and spirit of the people, communities and culture of New Orleans.  We have worked closely with Jerome to compile a collection of his work that focuses on experiences, color, personality and human emotion, capturing the qualitites that set New Orleans apart from other communities within the United States.
